A Growing Trend - Fusion Centers Connect Private and Public Sector Thinking

Boeing recently announced their participation in a Seattle Fusion Center in order to strengthen the connection between public and private security intelligence.

A Fusion Center is a collection of security experts from a wide array of governmental agencies. They consolidate, analyze, and distribute information through the many different organizations in order to enhance the ability to foresee and prevent terrorist activity. The public sector is taking heed, and has recently joined the counter-intelligence collaboration.

This is an indicator of the positive progression of counter-intelligence, and it is about time. The private sector owns about 80% of all critical infrastructure, and a communication disconnect could result catastrophically in a disaster scenario. The sooner Fusion Centers are operating and sharing security intelligence, the better.

BAM agrees with Secretary Napolitano, when she recently stated that the key to combating terrorism is disseminating usable intelligence to our state, local, tribal and private sector partners, getting similar intelligence back from those partners for in-house analysis work, and making this happen in real-time.

Fusion Centers are becoming the standard of intelligence sharing throughout businesses, IT organizations, and governmental agencies. BAM offers Fusion Center building and facilitaion for all organizations. Read more about BAM Fusion here.
